Brown & Kelly, LLP represents contractors and subcontractors in the preparation and review of contracts and subcontracts and in the resolution of contract disputes. To that end, we engage in litigation of contract disputes both on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. We also prepare, file and enforce mechanic's liens and public improvement liens on behalf of our clients who are contractors or subcontractors.

Brown & Kelly has had a long history of serving the insurance industry as corporate counsel as well as defense and coverage counsel. In 1914, Brown & Kelly formed Exchange Mutual Insurance Company, and later represented the company in the first successful conversion of a mutual company to a stock company in New York State. The firm also represented Exchange Insurance in its sale to Selective Insurance Company.
Since our founding in 1924, the firm represented Aetna Casualty and Surety Company and its insureds until the insurance company was acquired by Travelers Property Casualty Company in 1995. The firm continues to represent Travelers Property and Casualty Company, Selective Insurance Company, Merchants Insurance Group, New York Central Mutual, One Beacon Insurance, The Cincinnati Insurance Company, Zurich Insurance Group, New York Casualty, National American Insurance Company, Nationwide Insurance Company, Transamerica Insurance Group, Sentry Insurance, CNA Insurance, Cumis Insurance Society, Nova Casualty Company, and their insureds.
Our expertise includes the areas of defense litigation, coverage analysis and declaratory judgments, no-fault, supplementary uninsured/underinsured motorists, fraudulent claims investigations, including examinations under oath, broker/agent liability, fidelity and surety, and regulatory matters.
