William P. Wiles

William P. Wiles practices in the areas of business and corporate law, real estate, commercial transactions, municipal law, probate, elder law and tax law.  He has been with the firm since 1980.  Mr. Wiles is a graduate of LeMoyne College (B.S., Accounting, 1976) and St. Johns University School of Law (J.D. 1979).  In 1980, he was admitted to the State Bar of New York and the United State District Court, Western District of New York, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York.

Mr. Wiles served as the Town Attorney for the Town of Grand Island from February 5, 1992 through December 31, 1999.  In that position, Mr. Wiles acted as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for the Town Board, the Town Supervisor, the Advisory Boards, and the Town Employees, providing legal advice and interpreting Local, State, and Federal Laws affecting the Town of Grand Island.  Mr. Wiles’ duties included representation of the Town before Courts and Administrative Agencies, drafting and review of Local laws, preparation and review of Town Contracts, legal representation of the Town in connection with all Town Real Estate transactions, and advice on matters related to zoning, land use, assessment, environmental matters, and code enforcement.  For several years during the 1980's, Mr. Wiles was also primarily responsible for all legal matters pertaining to the firm’s representation to the Village of South Dayton, New York.

Mr. Wiles is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.  Involved in his community of Grand Island, he is a member and past President of the Grand Island Lions Club.  Mr. Wiles is a native of Buffalo, New York.
