Carrie R. McElroy practices in the area of insurance defense litigation related to motor vehicle, premises liability and Labor Law claims.  In addition, she practices in the area of insurance coverage, declaratory judgment actions and fraudulent claims investigations.  Ms. McElroy is also experienced in representing secured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings including claims related to fraudulent conveyances.  Prior to attending law school Ms. McElroy worked for the Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Fraud Section, where she assisted with the investigation and prosecution of white collar crimes.  Such experience is an asset to insurance companies in connection with fraudulent claims investigations.

Ms. McElroy received her Juris Doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and received her B.A., cum laude, in Political Science, from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  While in law school, Ms. McElroy was actively involved in the Domestic Violence and Community Economic Development legal clinics established in conjunction with the law school.  Ms. McElroy also studied international intellectual property law and comparative constitutional law in Nairobi, Kenya.

Ms. McElroy is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Western, Northern and Southern Districts of New York.  She is a member of the Bar Association of Erie County, the New York State Bar Association and the Western New York Chapter of the Women's Bar Association of New York.
