Andrew D. Merrick
Andrew Merrick is a senior trial partner who concentrates his practice in insurance defense and coverage litigation as well as medical malpractice defense. Named a 2009 Super Lawyer in the area of Personal Injury Defense, Mr. Merrick has over 33 years of trial experience handling complex, high profile cases in Western New York's legal history. The list of Andy's adversaries is a who's who of the best of Western New York's plaintiff attorneys. At present, a significant portion of Andy's practice involves defending industrial and construction firms that have been sued for claims involving New York State Labor Law Sections 240, 241, and 200. In addition to trial work, Andy handles complex appeals.
Mr. Merrick served as a member of the Eighth Judicial District Attorney Grievance Committee from 2000 to 2006.
Mr. Merrick is a member of the Erie County Bar and Western New York Trial Lawyers Associations. He is a native of Buffalo, New York and a graduate of Canisius College and the Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to coming to Brown & Kelly, Andy served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, JAGG.
